I really do. JK Rowling, John Irving, and Stephen King were at a conference last week. The great Rowling let us know that 2 of the main characters will die in the last book (I gasped) and that Harry lives (Temporary relief until I remembered Hermoine and Ron).
I thank JJ for giving me such a treasure.
It shall be a most awesome midnight madness when this final joy comes out.

On the contrary husband, you must have misread the article. Rowling did not say one way or the other if Harry lives or dies. She's keeping his fate to herself. I too read USA Today Life section.
I liked how Steven King pointed out that the venue was filled with readers and not people gathered round to hear a music concert. I think it's great that so many readers were together in one place and were excited.
I, too, love Harry Potter. He can't die, he just can't! I think my world would be destroyed. As would Stephen King's. Next summer . . . it's you, me, and Alicia for the midnight release of book 7. Many speculate that it will be released on July 7, 2007 to make for a significant date. I don't know, but I hope it comes out in the summer in the very least. I'm a hopeless romantic and I'm dying to know if Harry and Ginny get back together. Oh yeah, and if he ends up saving the world.
I thought you might find this information about book 7 interesting:

Think of all the possibilities!
Why am I going to a Harry Potter midnight release? Am I bringing Hope? I would go just because I would love to laugh with you two clowns :) (I mean that in a good way)Now, if Edith Wharton were releasing a sequel to The Age of Innocence . . .
Yes, I thought you'd come with Hope-- that would definitely make it all the more fun! :0)
Nerds!
Just joshing with you.
Here's a bit on Rowling's comment about Harry Potter's chances at life:
